Peacock Unveils Live Shows, Six New Channels, And Original Programming Ahead Of Olympics
NBCUniversal's streaming service Peacock is set to launch a dedicated Tokyo Olympics destination on July 15 featuring live coverage of major events, live daily shows, original programming, replays, highlights, and new channels.
Viewers will be able to follow along live as Simone Biles and Team USA compete in gymnastics events, the world's fastest vie for victory in track & field, and the US Men's Basketball Team's chases their fourth straight gold. Kevin Hart and Snoop Dogg will bring some levity to the Games with a highlights show showcasing feats of great athleticism and some moments that didn't exactly go according to plan. Host, writer and executive producer of Peacock's late-night series The Amber Ruffin Show, Amber Ruffin will be in Tokyo to give her own smart and comedic takes on the action. The NFL Network's Rich Eisen will also be on hand to provide coverage of the most compelling performances of the day on his show Tokyo Gold. For the first time, NBC Olympics coverage will include a women's sports-centric show hosted by the trio of Lindsay Czarniak, Lolo Jones, and MJ Acosta-Ruiz. On Her Turf will feature athletes Katie Ledecky, Allyson Felix, Alex Morgan, April Ross, and Alix Klineman. Cari Champion and Kenny Mayne will get fans up to speed on the day's highlights on Tokyo Tonight. Jac Collinsworth will serve as contributor to Tokyo Tonight on-location in Tokyo.
