Sonion Group said in a press statement that Novo has purchased its all shares from Altor Fund III and from other current shareholders for an undisclosed value.
Sonion CEO Joern Moerkeberg said reasons for the sale were attributed to Novo's long and successful track record in managing R&D intensive companies, which could help strengthen Sonion's R&D efforts to develop better products.
Closing of the transaction is subject to approvals from relevant authorities and is expected to take place during the second half of 2014, according to the statement.
The deal means Novo will expand its long-term life science investment portfolio with a medical technology company that is a leading partner to the hearing instrument manufacturers.
