Genetic testing has confirmed that the giant tortoise found on the Galapagos Islands is from a species that scientists think has died more than a century ago.A single woman was discovered during a 2019 trip to Fernandina Island.To prove the connection, the scientists compared the female samples with the remains of the male from the species Chelonoidis phantasticus.
