How to Hang a Bead Doorway Curtain

Hold the beaded curtain rod over the doorway in the location you wish to mount it. Mount the rod directly onto a wooden door frame or approximately 1 inch above the door frame. Most door frames are surrounded by metal flashing beneath the paint so you can only install mounting hardware above the flashing, or 1 inch above the frame.

Place a small piece of masking tape on the frame or wall at the location of the hanging hooks on the rod. Mark the screw holes for the rod on the tape, using a pencil. Set the curtain rod aside.

Drill a starter hole through the marking on the tape, using a drill bit one size smaller than the cup hook screw. The tape prevents the paint and plaster from cracking.

Remove the tape. Screw a cup hook into each starter hole, using your hand. Twist the hook until it is securely in the wall and the opening of the hook is facing upward. |
